Seamus McNally ("The Hypnotist") and inspired by Jacques Prevert's poetic masterpiece.
... a boy of ten peeks in on the life of a painter as he prepares a canvas for the arrival of God, a bird,
heaven's kiss. The narrative will be available in French and English (translation by "Beat generation" poet
Lawrence Ferlinghetti) and will also soon be available in other languages. "To Paint the Portrait of a Bird"
was filmed by Jonathon Cliff of Toronto in 2005/6 as the seasons passed. From its opening frame
on, this exquisite motion picture attempts to capture for celluloid the sheer beauty, and the artful language,
of one of the world's most beloved poems, the favorite of generations of children and adults.
